Currently, the produce and fruits we buy from large supermarkets often travel hundreds of miles before reaching the store. This method is detrimental to the environment as truckers cross large distances releasing carbon monoxide along the way, and hurts traditional, local farmers. In order to improve this situation, consumers have been advised to adopt the 100 mile diet, which is to eat foods that were produced within 100 miles of the store. With this in mind, GOOD.is created a graphic to notify people when fruits and vegetables are available locally in Washington (state), Iowa, Connecticut, Colorado, California, and Georgia.
