Marbles: The Brain Store: We’re a one-of-a-kind retail store with a smart collection of hand-picked, expert-tested, certifiably fun ways to a healthier brain for all ages. The best part? Our stores are designed to let you roll up your sleeves and get a little brainy while you play games, solve puzzles, try out software and flip through books to find the right products for you and your noggin. Our team is chock-full of smart, outgoing people who are passionate about learning new things and creating a fun, interactive environment where customers can reach their brain’s fullest potential.

There are 5 areas of brain activity that Marbles targets: Critical thinking, memory, coordination, visual perception, and word skills.

Critical thinking: Your frontal cortex is responsible for critical thinking and decision making so we like to think of it as the CEO of your brain. Wanna beef up your frontal cortex and give corporate head honchos a serious case of brain envy? Try learning a new skill, teaching it to others and then moving on to the next one.

Memory: The most important thing to remember is this: Regardless of age, you don’t have to settle for a dodgy memory. By engaging in brain stimulating activities, you can help clear the dust bunnies, turbo-charge your natural RAM and re-establish old connections between brain cells.

Coordination: Coordination isn’t just for gymnasts. You use it for everyday tasks like brushing your teeth and driving a car. Plus, studies show that working on hand-eye coordination can actually help kids learn to read. Good old-fashioned play can help you improve coordination and strengthen your brain-body connection.

Visual perception: Visual perception affects our observation skills, creativity and spatial awareness, so it’s critical for overall brain health. Boost your visual perception skills with activities that require you to shift the orientation of objects in your mind and quickly recognize shapes and colors. Jigsaw puzzle, anyone?

Word skills: The Broca’s and Wernicke’s areas of your brain are responsible for language. Give them a workout and rev up your vocab with activities that encourage you to use words, recognize letter patterns and create new combinations. Double bonus: You’ll sound smarter in the process.

Marbles also offers a free, online brain health assessment.
